The other part of this dare was more difficult. "The list" of negatives, lets face it, I may need this some day to prove my point when we're arguing over something important! Isn't that what we wives are good at? Bringing up the past "sins" and beating them over our husbands heads at just the right opportunity?
Putting the list in the paper shredder was the easy part, what I had to do was ask the Lord to shred the negatives from my mind never to be used against him again, and when and if I do to remind me quickly so I don't destroy my spouse spirit.

Love believes the Best...
Day 7 - Love believes the Best
1 Corinthians 13:7King James Bible
"Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."
Love believes the best of everyone. Love is ever ready to believe the best of every person. Too often we (I'm still just talking about those whom are in Christ) are drawn to hear the worst about someone.
In this area of our study, I think we should consider how often we find ourselves focused, or concerned, or even amused by negative things we here about those we are suppose to love, and how wrong it is.
Remember, God looks at the heart of man. and so, we can't hide anything from Him.
(Romans 14:10-12) , "You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God."
Revelation 2:23 says it is God who, "Searches hearts and minds."
When we catch ourselves involved in any kind of thought or discussion about someone and it isn't focused on the best of that person then we must stop and search our hearts.
When we hear something negative about someone, what a beautiful opportunity we have to redirect the attention toward the best quality of that individual. If you don't know the person or have never seen a quality that you think would be considered 'best', then avoid being drawn into the issue at all. It may be that God is giving you the opportunity to look for the best in that person being talked about.
If love, Gods' love is in our heart, then we will believe the best about people because real love responds in that way.

Love is not Irritable...
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. - Proverbs 16:32
Why is it that the ones we love most become the most irritable to us?
It takes a lot of intentionality on our part to see our spouse in a different set of lenses. That is why the Love Dare challenge each one of us and it works so well.
It give you a chance to practice loving your spouse in different ways and that keeps my focus off of yourself. That is calledINTENTIONALITY! Try it for yourself, the results might amaze you!
As I have watched individuals and couples come into this online community my mind has quickly moved away from Jennifer and walking through the 40 Day Love Dare. My heart has been broken as I see how people rate their marriages. The Message Board has notes fromm people seeking help and prayer.
My heart is heavy for all those wanting to see a miracle in their marriage and even those that are okay but know it can be so much more. I am committed to pray for each one of them.
In processing Dare #6 the question they ask on page 26 is, Am I a calming breeze, or a storm waiting to happen? That really hit me hard as I reflect on my lion personality. How does my wife see me and what about my children.
Lets just say that sometimes it storms when I am around. This is a great one to think and pray about as a man with a type AAA personality.
I am going to take this Dare and really work hard on it. Intentionality is the key for me and this 40 Day journey is giving me a great head start. One thing I have already done is stop traveling so much and this has given me margin. Margin, it directly impacts your life at every level.

Love is not Rude...
I'm guilty of this one, God knows how much I regret the days, I as being rude unconsciously speaking, I didn't know then, I just thought it was the right one to say, so to speak, moreover, I guess I'm just being rude unconsciously;
but thank God for His mercies
I am forgiven and I was able to give forgiveness in return, not only to the person I involve with but to myself also...

Love is not selfish...
Just think of your partner's welfare. That alone can sum-up this statement.
Like what Jesus did at the Calvary. Jesus Christ, the beloved Son on Our Heavenly Father, did not have any second thought of giving His life for us to the point of death.
